Photograph Everything, From Every Angle
Before a single item is moved, capture wide shots of each room and close-ups of every point of damage. Video narrated as you walk the property is even better, it timestamps the loss and captures context a still photo misses.
Keep A Record Of Emergency Repairs
Save receipts for tarps, board-ups, water extraction, and any work done to prevent further damage. These mitigation costs are recoverable, but only if you can prove them.
Don't Discard Damaged Property Yet
